Yeh, it's the weekend again, with only 4 days at work this week, it just flew by. I have another 4 day week next week as I have this coming Monday off as an ADO, Whoo hoo! I could get used to this, 4 days on, 3 days off, lovely.
Lovely Hubby and I are going down the coast on Saturday for a special night out. For my Birthday, earlier this year, our Sons beautiful Partner gave me tickets to see a Bee Gees Tribute Band, I am such a huge Bee Gees fan/tragic, I play their music constantly at home and even met Sir Barry Gibb when he came out to open the second stage of Bee Gees Way in Redcliffe.
The tribute band are supposed to be wonderful, I hope they do the Bee Gees proud.
This weeks 5 frugal things goes like this-
1. Mended a pair of socks that I love, they are little "no show" socks with zebras on them, quirky, comfy and worthy of mending. I used a little tennis ball to stuff into the toe to make mending them easier.
2. Mended an old but comfy pair of shoes, there seems to be a theme here doesn't there, I must have one really pointy toe as the hole is in the same spot as the sock above.
Not perfect but they will be fine to walk the dogs in
3. Along with the two items above, I mended a pair of PJ pants belonging to my son, the casing for the elastic had unravelled, I popped some navy thread on the sewing machine and sewed a new casing . Good as new. And yes I did find all of this mending in the sewing/spare room when I cleared it out and tidied it up on Sunday.
4. Picked up some marked down produce on Tuesday afternoon on the way home from work, I love a bargain.
5. Still on the food front we used up some freezer meals for dinner one night and I soaked some sad saggy lettuce in a bowl of iced water to bring the crunch back, worked like a charm.
Your turn, how did you and yours save money this week?
