What we bought, spent and ate this week

Hello Dear Reader,

We have had a very low key start to the New Year, no parties and such, just work for me and fishing and pawning for lovely hubby. He doesn't go back to work till this coming Tuesday, lucky boy. We never travel at Christmas or Easter, preferring to stay off the busy roads and stay home instead. We like to travel and holiday in the off peak season as we both dislike noise, large crowds and heavy traffic.

We also kept it super simple on the food front this week, I really wanted to use every last scrap of food before buying more and that is exactly what we did. We did a tiny top up shop on New Years Day, only picking up a few things to supplement what was already in the house.

Now on with what we bought, spent and ate this week-

What we bought

A few items from Coles to keep us going, the mixed frozen veg is actually for the dogs, I steam a cup of veg, chop it up and at it to their dinners, they love it and eat every last bit

What we spent
Coles-$12.20
What we ate

Saturday-Ham with Quinoa, Roast Pumpkin and Cranberry Salad plus Sauerkraut and Dijon

Sunday, Monday and Wednesday-Ham and Creamy Dill and Potato Salad

Tuesday-Creamy Garlic and Seeded Mustard Prawns with Mashed Potato and Nigellas Upmarket Mushy Peas. I am taking a little video of our nightly dinners for my 1SE, year long compilation, in doing so I forgot to take a static photo of dinner. Pardon the silly video, I was trying to work out how to take the video the same way, every time for continuity.

Thursday-Maple Apple Ham with Mashed Potato and Nigellas Upmarket Mushy Peas

So a very simple start to 2019, just the way I like it, oh and yes the ham is now all used up!

Over to you, how was the start of 2019 for you?

Have a lovely day,
💕Fi
