I am trying to use my new toy as much as possible, so the other day when I went to whip some cream to go with these pancakes, I thought I would try my hand at whipping cream in the Thermomix. I know how powerful the Thermomix is, so I kept a really close eye on it through the hole in the lid.
Firstly I popped the small container of thickened cream into the freezer for 10 minutes to get it really cold as I know from experience it will whip better and quicker if the cream is really cold. I then added the cream to the TM bowl, along with 2 teaspoons each of vanilla essence and icing sugar, inserted the butterfly whisk and popped the lid on.
I whipped the cream on speed 3 for 30 seconds, scraped down the sides and whipped it again on speed 3 for 20 seconds. The result? Perfectly whipped cream in less than 1 minute. Yes!
Ingredients for 50 Second Whipped Cream in the Thermomix, from left-2 teaspoons each of vanilla essence and icing sugar and a 300 ml bottle of thickened cream, very cold from the freezer
Insert the butterfly whisk into the TM bowl
Add all ingredients
And whip for 30 seconds on speed 3, keeping a really close eye on it, you don't want it to curdle and you don't want butter either. Once finished, remove lid and scrape down the sides, pop the lid back on and whip for a further 20 seconds
Voila-perfectly light, airy, angelic, whipped cream
