This Weeks 5 Frugal Things on a Friday

Hello Dear Reader,

As I mentioned yesterday, I am super tired at the moment, I am sleeping like a log, it's just my days are really big. Work is wearing me thin, I'll just leave it at that!

Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for my job, I just think I am getting too old for such a physically demanding job and I am so looking forward to our little break in early May. We are hoping to go camping somewhere, our usual camping spot, at Noosa North Shore, is closing for regeneration from late April, so we will have to look for an alternative camp spot. We still want a beach camp, with an ammenities block, with vehicle access and also easy access to the beach, I have been looking but there doesn't appear too many that fit the bill. Never mind, we still have time and if you know of any in South East Queensland, I am open to suggestions.

We have had our daughter with us since Sunday as she is working down this way, she has more than enough work so has decided to stay an extra week. She has long exhausting days plus travel on top of that so we have made sure she is eating well, with her dinner ready for her when she comes home and a lunch packed for the next day. I've also kept up with her washing, I think a little family support goes a long way and she is most grateful. Easing the burden of the everyday stuff is what us parents do best, isn't?

Now on with the frugal things-

1. Made a huge pot of chicken soup that kept us fed for 3 nights plus some lunches

Chicken Soup portioned out ready for lunch the next day

2. Made a lovely loaf of wholemeal bread using this bread roll recipe last Saturday. It stayed fresh till the last slice, which I took to go with my lunch yesterday.

3. Par dried the washing then hung it up on hangers to finish drying, we have had some lovely rain so I have been unable to hang the washing on then line to dry

4. Froze the whey from home made yoghurt to make these crepes. I pour a small amount of whey from the yoghurt each day when I am adding it to our breakfast fruit bowls, it keeps the yoghurt thick and creamy. Once I have enough I will make those crepes.

5. Made some Naan breads to go with the soup one night, I knew I didn't have time to make another loaf of bread and this Naan bread is so quick and easy.

Your turn, how did you save money this week?

Have a lovely day,
💖Fi
