Another week down and only 3 and a bit weeks to go until my "Beautiful Bordeaux"holiday with my darling sister. It still feels like a bit of a dream really, but I am starting to get very excited. I will have to go through my wardrobe soon and see what still fits, the weather and temperature in Bordeaux in May ranges from 10 C to 22 C with the average of 10 rainy days. So I think layers will be the way to go. I am not really a dress or skirt person preferring long trousers and tops, so I should be able to pull something together.
In saying that I am not really a dress person, I have now ordered 2 dresses from "Wish" and now I can only wish that they both arrive in time and they both fit! I spent a total of $54.00 on 2 dresses, both grey in colour and I am really hoping they arrive in time, or I will be hitting the OP shops for something nice to wear out to dinner. I have also been more careful with what I am eating or rather the quantity, so I am hoping that this being more mindful of portions will show on the scales.
Now on with the frugal stuff-
1. Made a large Quinoa salad to take to work everyday for my lunch, I used ingredients all ready at home and it has been lovely to have a protein rich salad that is not only delicious but keeps me full till dinner. I will post this yummy recipe soon.
2. Cleaned the house with home made cleaners, I made another batch of this Miracle Spray yesterday afternoon. I find it cleans anything except glass and mirrors (it will cause streaking because of the eucalyptus oil) The glass spray bottle, on the left, is from a product I received when I used to subscribe to The Mighty Nest. It was a natural powdered cleaner that you mixed with water, it was okay, this Miracle Spray is better though. I simply re-filled the bottle when it was empty. I stopped the subscription as it was too expensive for the products I received.
3. Saved the shower warm up water to water some of the pot plants.
4. Hung all the washing on the line, there were just a few light showers of rain this week. I don't iron, full stop, I par dry items of clothing, that may wrinkle, in the drier for a few minutes then I hang them of hangers on my Aldi clothes airer to finish drying. No ironing needed.
5. Started making Kombucha from a gifted SCOBY that my lovely hairdresser gave me. This is the brew 2 days in, I will start tasting it on the 4th day.
Your turn, what did you do to save money this week?
Have a lovely day,
💗Fi
