Another Shopping Trip to the Golden Circle Outlet

Hello Dear Reader,

Last Saturday, lovely Hubby and I drove up to Morayfield to visit the Golden Circle Factory Outlet store again. We seem to visit this store about twice a year and this visit was our third. There is so many items on sale in bulk quantities, lots we don't use but quite a few we do. As I've mentioned previously, we keep grocery shopping to a minimum only buying what we can use in the coming week with exception of bulk rice, cocoquench milk, cat and dog food and dark chocolate which we buy when they are on a super special.

We went a bit mad this trip, stocking up on lots of really great products and specials. I was interested to see how much these products or something very similar sold for in the normal supermarkets and I was pleasantly surprised at how much we saved. What's that saying? You've got to spend money to save money.

Here's what we bought and the price comparisons on some items-

Washing powder $1.65 each, Sard Wonder soaker $7.50, Alfa One Rice Bran Spray $2.50 each, Pearl River Soy Sauce $2.50, Moro infused olive oil $2.75

We saved $2.50 on the Sard

$3.00 on the olive oil if it was at full price

And $2.25 on the cooking spray

San Remo Egg Pasta's $1.65 each (3 for $5), Large Rice Paper $3.00

San Remo egg pasta at Coles $3.39, saving $1.74 a packet

Greenseas Tuna 50c a can, Smoked Oysters 1.80 each, John West Salmon $2.50 each, Sardines in oil $1.75 each, Anchovies $16.00 for a huge 560 gram jar

John West Tuna at Coles was $1.50 a tin on special, we saved $1.00 a tin

We saved $4.80 on the salmon

And up to $12 on the anchovies

Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise $3.75 for an 800 gram jar, Ancient Grains Peanut Butter $1.50 a jar, Heinz Baked Bean/Bean Varieties 83 cents a can (6 for $5), Chickpeas 83 cents a can (6 for $5), Massel Liquid Stock $2.75 each

A saving of $4.25 or $8.63 if it was full price

We saved $2.70 on the peanut butter

Not a lot of saving on the baked beans but still a saving of 7 cents

And 92 cents on similar varieties

25 cents on the stock

Vita Weat varieties $1.66 each (3 for $5) Nature Valley Nut Butter Biscuits $1.00 each, Fantastic Rice Crackers $1.25 (4 for $5)

We saved 84c per pack on the Vita Weat or $1.84 if it wasn't on special

And $4.30 per pack on the Nut Butter biscuits

Sauerkraut $3.00, huge 1.9 kg jar of gherkins $6.00, salt and spice grinders $2.25 each, 1 kg of Himalayan Salt $4.75

We saved $7.42 on the bulk salt

This was the most similar I could find at Coles, we saved an average of $1.75 per grinder

We saved $6.36 on the Dill Pickles if we were to buy these small jars

And we payed 25 c less for nearly double the amount of Sauerkraut

Cadbury Coco 70% dark mint was 85c a block, Cadbury Dark Milk Mint block was $2 a block, Tim Tams were $1 each and the Roasted Peanuts were $3 for 500 grams

We paid $3 for a 500 gram pack

We saved $1.15 per block or $3.15 if not on special

And 50c a block on this one

And $2.65 a packet if not on special

I have more to add to this post and I will update it this afternoon. It is, by far, the largest shop of this kind we have ever done and our pantry is looking very full. I have already used some stock, pasta, nut butter biscuits, washing powder, Sard and tuna and it's all been very good quality. Check back this afternoon for more comparisons.

Have a lovely day,
💗Fi
