I really don't have a lot to report this Frugal Friday morning, it's been a bit of a blur from Monday to today. Each day very similar to the last, sorting, clearing, cleaning, dropping a car load of stuff off to the Life Line Super Store at Margate (my one and only outing for the day) and looking at yet another draw and really dreading opening it, knowing it will be full of stuff to sort😞
I am on a mission to clear out my late MIL home to make way for our son and partner to move in sometime in August. In my mind it wasn't going to be too bad, but as you probably already know from this post, it is worse than I thought. I didn't understand the gravity of the situation...
I won't go over it again, but lets just say, I will never do this to my adult children. Swedish Death Cleaning is the way for me. No one is going to go through this because of my choices.
Now on with the frugal stuff-
1. Because there was so much private and confidential paper to be destroyed from next door I rang around to find the best quote for an on site paper shredding company. I found one that gave me the best price, they were very prompt in their response to my enquiry and by far and away the cheapest.
2. Cut open the squeeze-y bottle of mayo (actually Aioli) to get the dregs out for the Creamy Dill Potato Salad I made on Wednesday. There was still so much in the bottom, at least 2 tablespoon worth. Waste not, want not
4. BBQ'd a 2 kg piece of Brisket on Sunday and it did us for 2 dinners plus 2 lunches. Our son and his partner are away at the moment, so it's just been the two of us for meals.
5. Rugged up against the cold instead of using the heating cycle on the air conditioning. I've been wearing a warm pashmina, my winter gown and my ugg boots of a morning and evening to keep toasty warm.
How have you saved money this week?
Have a lovely day,
💙Fi
