This Weeks 5 Frugal Things on a Friday

Hello Dear Reader,

Again, not much to say on the frugal stuff, as I simply have been to busy to do anything other than keep up with the washing, make meals and try to keep my place kinda tidy and clean. I have started cleaning next door, now that a majority of the furniture is out of the way, the carpets and pest control are being done today, using a local company we have used for many years.

I am using my home made Miracle Spray and home made Paste Cleaner on everything except mirrors and the timber furniture, I find both of these products will tackle just about any cleaning job you can think of.

While cleaning out one of the big buffets in the dining room, I discovered a 1/2 full bottle of home made furniture polish that my late FIL made years ago. It smells wonderful, I know it is based on bees wax, but as for the other ingredients I have no clue. Both he and my late MIL collected, refurbished and gave new life to many, many pieces if antique furniture over the years and we have decided to keep a few of them ourselves.

I have cleaned and polished these pieces and will reveal them soon when we have bought them over and slotted them into our home. They are really beautiful and unusual pieces. They smell so lovely and fresh with the polish and they are gleaming. My shoulders and forearms are so sore from all the cleaning but the end is in sight.

Now on with the frugal stuff-

1. Picked 3 small Red Paw Paws and countless passionfruit from our garden

Everyday there are many passionfruit on the ground

2. Used homemade cleaners to clean our home and the one next door

3. Line dried all the washing

4. Cooked dinner every night and made sure all left overs were used in a timely manner

5. Put many items up for free on Gumtree and donated heaps to the Lifeline Super Store, hoping to give the items a new home, but also to prevent anything from going into landfill. I am frugal but also environmentally aware.
