My Third Year of Less Stuff

Hello Dear Reader,

Last years de-cluttering of our home fell by the wayside due to clearing and cleaning out my late In-Law's home, next door to us. I blogged about this experience, and if you want to read them, all the posts are under the "Settling My late In-Laws Home" label. It now seems like a million years ago but it's only 7 months ago!

My Late MIL's office, she had never thrown away one piece of paper!

So, here we go again, my de-cluttering efforts have started again, I have started another page called, would you believe it, "My Third Year of Less Stuff" and it went live yesterday, this is where I will post photos of items as they leave our home. This year I will also be counting how many items I no longer need or love, just curious to see how many items there will be at the end of the year.

About two weeks ago we tackled Lovely Hubby's wardrobe, I completely forgot to take photos of the piles of clothing, shoes and bric-a-brac we took to one of the local Op shops, as I don't use plastic bags anymore, I tied the neatly folded bundles of clothing with string to deliver them.

His wardrobe now looks fantastic, I even used the Kon-Mari method for his folded items such as t-shirts and shorts, the draws are so super neat and he can now see, at a glance, what are in the draws.

One (of two) of my draws with folded clothing in, I have so few items, that I can't Konmari them, they just would't pass the stand test. In this draw is 3 pairs of light weight shorts and a mid weight pair of pyjamas.

The second draw that has folded clothing in it has a pair of jeans, 2 cardigans and one knitted top that I have never worn but can't give it away, out of guilt, as it was handmade for me.

Your turn, have you decided to do a deep clean of your life this year?

Have a lovely day,
💗Fi
