This weeks WWBSAATW is a little different to our normal weeks, because we had a very out of the ordinary week. We had a little 4 night get-away cruise on the P & O Aria and we had a really lovely relaxing time. We actually did very little, went for breakfast, lunch and dinner and read and napped in between, it was bliss.
So, on the actual grocery front I have very little to show you, we had a quick and easy dinner Friday night, an equally easy dinner on Saturday and on Sunday I made a big pot of Ginger and Pineapple Chicken, Asian Greens and Steamed Basmati rice to have as a family dinner with our son and his partner.
And then we were on the cruise, we ate a lovely dinner every night but the one at the Salt Grill was exceptional. You do pay to go there, it is $59 per person which I feel was warranted for such beautiful quality food, amazing service and attention to detail, so I will include the $118 for dinner on board our cruise with what we spent on food this week.
Now on with the rest of the weeks food-

Tuesday-Salt Grill
Entree-We both had the "Glass" Sydney Crab Omelette with enoki mushroom and herb salad and miso mustard broth. This was so flavourful and light as air
For mains, I chose the Grilled Petuna Ocean Trout with cucumber, tomato and dill broth and LH chose the Scotch Fillet with a red wine jus. Our sides were Truffled Mashed Potato, Zucchini with bacon, parmesan and lemon thyme and an Heirloom tomato salad with basil, onion and feta. All so delicious, I was in heaven.
For Dessert we both had the Coconut and Vanilla Creme Brûlée
This dinner was the highlight of the cruise and worth every bit of the $118.00!

We both had the Potted Rillette of Salmon
I chose the Teriyaki Miso Salmon with stir fried baby bok choy, sticky rice and scallion, radish salad and LH chose the Lobster Tail Tempura with saffron garlic aioli and steak chips
Dessert was supposed to be a Creamy Passionfruit Crisp however it was just a soggy brioche bun filled with mock cream and a teaspoon of passionfruit sauce. This was the only let down of the whole holiday. First world problems!
So there you go, a really lovely week of food and the best part I didn't need to cook for most of it! I slept so soundly in my own bed last night and woke early as usual. My list for today is not too big, lots of prep work for the coming week, a couple of dog walks and a visit to the bulk store to pick up a few things. What are you doing today?
Have a lovely day,
💖Fi
