We had a slightly bigger grocery total this week as we made all the lunches for the Marlin fishing competition last weekend, there were 4 anglers in total (in our boat) and we made salami (bought from the markets the previous week $15.00) cheese, lettuce and pickle wraps plus buttered hot cross buns, as a snack, to keep them going. They didn't strike a marlin but they did catch 3 magnificent Mahi Mahi or Dolphin fish. They are a superb eating fish however they do not freeze well, the flesh changes and not in a good way so fresh Mahi Mahi was had for dinner three nights of last week.
I know how fortunate we are to be able to eat fresh fish and really enjoy cooking with it, lovely hubby is usually the fish cook but I took the reins in this case and cooked gorgeous Green Curry with Mahi Mahi with loads of fresh, crispy veggies to compliment the fish.
As I wasn't expecting this bonus of fresh Mahi Mahi, I went out and purchased fresh ingredients to make the green curry=more money spent on groceries. You win some you lose some.
