What's in My Utensil Holder?

Hello Dear Reader,

I have had this up-cycled ceramic pot filled with kitchen utensils, sitting on my kitchen bench forever and I find it so super handy to have everything I use, almost daily, within easy reach. I have loaded this pot with my very favourite and much used utensils to save time and my sanity while looking for something in the "second draw down".

I think everyone has one of those "second draw down' draws, you know the ones, filled with all kinds of do-dads and thing-a-ma-jigs that we may use once in a blue moon. Well, I still have one of those, although I did give it a good clear out and over haul a while ago, only keeping handy, well used things.

It was actually Queen Nigella that gave me the idea of keeping all my most used kitchen gadgets and utensils within easy reach, I know it makes complete and utter sense and I also think it looks really lovely and makes my kitchen my own.

Look how young she is in this photo and see all her favourite utensils, pot and pans within easy reach

So here is what I keep and use on a very regular basis in my kitchen bench utensil holder-

Clockwise from top left-
3 x good sturdy tongs (no dodgy tongs in my kitchen) microplane, pasta server, bread knife, lots of silicon spatulas, rice scoop, dough scraper, egg flip, 2 x wooden spoons, 3 x whisks, small sauce spoon, metal rice scoop, 2 x cake servers, salad servers, ice-cream scoop, large serving spoon, 2 x pastry brush (the one hiding underneath is silicon, veg peeler, citrus reamer, metal measuring spoons and two heavy duty scissors.

Would you like to share a photo of your utensil holder and its well loved and much used contents? If so email a photo to-

Have the loveliest of days
💚Fi
